All Students University of Auckland Hui - Year 9, 10 and 11 Māori Old Library Thu 1 Aug 0900 KGN
  Tēnā koutou, this is an invitation to a hui from The University of Auckland (Whakapiki Ake). The kaupapa is learning about health sciences to ensure that students understand pathways and are making good subject options for senior school.

The hui is open to any Year 9, 10 or 11 student that whakapapa Māori.

We have limited spaces so please get in quick. If you would like to attend (or have any pātai) please email Mr Kerrigan on jkerrigan@mags.school.nz

Juniors only Aotearoa NZ Spelling Bee E11 Mon 29 Jul 1:30pm BRW
  If you signed up to compete in the Aotearoa New Zealand Spelling Bee, you will have received an email this morning. The test will be held on Monday the 29th of July at lunchtime in E11. If you are unable to attend at this time, please email Ms Ainley at jane.ainley@mags.school.nz and we will arrange an alternative time. Please come promptly, so we can start as soon as possible. There will be 50 words - 25 from the list you have been studying from and 25 new words. It will be a written test, so please bring a pen. Tomorrow at interval we will hold a practice in E11 to help you revise the words from the list. If you missed on sign ups earlier, you can still sign up - just email Ms Ainley.

  This is for current year 11 and 12 students (who will be Year 12 and 13 in 2025)

Art History and the Visual Arts Dept are organising a trip to Europe in the term 3 School holidays next year. If you think you may be interested in visiting London, Paris, Florence and Rome to experience and learn about arts and culture come to MN12 (new school block) at lunchtime on Friday 26th July to learn more.

This tour is arts focused however will benefit anyone taking Art History, Visual Arts, Classics and History.

  Want to learn a new sport? Meet Dragon Boat, a fun-filled water sport that we will be introducing to MAGS!

If you are interested in learning more about the sport, we have an information session coming up this week - Thursday, 25th July 2024 at lunchtime in MH8.

So if you are between Year 9 to Year 12 this year, come along and check it out!

The Seniors (Year 11-13) is on Wednesday 18th September at Bert Henham Reserve in Mount Wellington. Please note this clashes with Year 12/13 practice exams. Students will need to ensure they have no exams on that day to be eligible for selection.

Juniors (Year 9-10) on Wednesday 31st October, venue to be confirmed.

Teams can be either mixed or girls only. Please note we will try have a team for each but this will depend on numbers and commitment.

Practice days are to be confirmed.

Juniors only Auckland City Athletics Coaching Hub CRS
  Term 3 of the Auckland City Athletics Central Hub starts this Sunday from 11am-12pm at the Mt Smart Track. This is suitable for sprint and distance athletes from School Years 9 and 10, not to mention similar age students from winter code team sports where running is key. New athletes are welcome to trial a session for free to see if it works for them

Seniors only Netball - Boys Team for Combined Points Tournament LAI
  Wanted any Boys wanting to commit to play Netball for MAGS Combined Points Tournament 2024, please register for trials.

Trials will be held on Thursday, 25th July & 1st August at 7am - 8.30am in Gym 2

Please be aware of the tournament dates and information below. Please trial if you know you can attend.

A MAGS Boys team has been entered to into Auckland Netball's Annual Combined Points Secondary School Tournament.

WHEN: Wednesday August 7th 8.30-200pm (approx)
WHERE: Auckland Netball Centre, 7 Alison Ferguson Road, St Johns
DEPARTING MAGS SCHOOL: 7.30am AND Returning to MAGS 3pm approx
