  If you are interested in the informatics olympiad club, come to L06 at lunchtime on Monday.

The informatics Olympiad is an international programming competition with a strong focus on computer science and information technology. If you are interested in programming, have strong maths skills, and enjoy computational problem solving, come along and hear what it is about.

  Are you a speller extraordinaire? Or wud u lyk two improv ur speling? Either way, we'd love to have you come along to Spelling Club. All Students WIP club guest speaker CS6 Wed 6 Mar 1.30 SLB
  Unfortunately, the Women in Engineering presentation has been postponed to next week. However, another guest speaker is joining us this week! Paula Calver, a pervious MAGS scholarship physics teacher, will be discussing how to think like a physicist!

All students will be welcome. The presentation will be held in CS6 on Wednesday 6th March during lunch.

All Students Otago Junior Maths Competition WLD
  The University of Otago Junior Maths Comp is coming up. You need to register this week if you would like to take part.

• More information here: https://www.maths.otago.ac.nz/jmc/
• The emphasis is on problem-solving, so they say to “expect surprises”.
• Mathematical skills are important, but so is careful reading of the question and ensuring you answer exactly what is being asked.
• The competition is sat fully online.
• First round is a 50min online multi-choice test to be sat during Week 11 of Term 1 (exact time and day TBC).
• Second round is a paper exam sat at a later date where the top 15% of students from Part 1 are invited to participate.
• There may be a small cost to enter.

Year 13 Engineering at University of Auckland KGN
  Kia ora koutou, are you interested enrolling in a degree in engineering in 2025 at the University of Auckland?

If you whakapapa Māori, are in Year 13, take two Applied Sciences, (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), and Maths then please email Mr Kerrigan to share your interest.

There is a workshop during the April School holidays that the university is running to help you with getting admission to an engineering degree.
