  Melodica, our all-comers choir, is starting a new semester now that the Big Sing is done, and new members are welcome to join. Come along this week or next week to see if you enjoy it! Mondays, 3.15-4.45pm in E8. All welcome.

  Any student wishing to compete at the Auckland Secondary Schools Road Race on Tuesday 13th August at Pulman Park in Papakura, please register at the below link:

  Te Komiti Māori are promoting a photography competition over Matariki. Students and teachers are welcome to enter and there
are prizes up for grabs for you and your AMP class.

CHALLENGE BRIEF
Through photography what does this whakataukī mean to you?
Ka mahuta a Matariki i te pae, ka mahuta ō tātou tūmanako ki te tau
When Matariki rises above the horizon, our aspirations rise to the year ahead

INSTRUCTIONS
1.Take up to 2 photos to celebrate Matariki
2.Email your photo/s in JPEG format to jkerrigan@mags.school.nz . Include a short description of how the photo meets the brief.
3. Entries close Sunday 30th June at 11.59pm
4. Photos will be displayed in the library during week 10
5. Judging will take place 3rd July

 
 
All Students Maori Pasifika Theatre Group AFO
  Malo e lelei All,

START DATE: WEEK 7 FRIDAY 14TH JUNE AFTER SCHOOL PA3

We're looking for Māori and/or Pasifika students of any year level who are willing to learn drama pieces written by Māori and Pasifika scriptwriters. We're aiming for a diverse group of Pacific students to perform ( sing, play instruments, dance, act) with a connection to Pacific cultures and languages . By the end of the year, our aim for the group is to devise new theatrical material by MAGS Māori and Pasifika students. PLEASE EMAIL eprescott2@students.mags.school.nz for more information.

All Students New Library Closed - Thursday 27 June GDD
  Please be aware that the new library will be closed all day this Thursday 27 June. This includes before school.
Preparations for the official opening of the Nairn Building are taking place on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.
Please ensure that you do not need to use the library facilities that day, photocopying and printing included.
Classes booked for regular reading periods in the library will have a room change.

Juniors only Aotearoa National Spelling Bee BRW
  Y9 and 10 - 2024 Aotearoa National Spelling Bee Competition - sponsored by the Wright Family Foundation
A great opportunity to take part in a free spelling competition held nationwide amongst Y9 and 10 schools. The top 22 finalists win a travel and accommodation package for themselves and their parents/caregiver to compete in the 2024 Aotearoa New Zealand Spelling Bee Final in Wellington (1-2 November). The 2024 Spelling Bee Champion will win the Spelling Bee Trophy and $5000.
Please indicate if you are interested in taking part so I can give you access to the Spelling Bee word list of 100 words to practice. There is a test held at school 29 July - 2 August. If interested please email asap jane.ainley@mags.school.nz
